Qatar Economic Deal Boosts US Jobs With Record Boeing Order

The United States has secured a landmark $1.2 trillion economic commitment from Qatar. The announcement came during President Donald Trump’s visit to Doha, part of his broader Middle East trip focused on trade and security.

This agreement includes a record-breaking Boeing deal. Qatar Airways will acquire up to 210 widebody jetliners, including Boeing 787 Dreamliners and 777X aircraft. These planes will use GE Aerospace engines, contributing to an estimated 154,000 American jobs each year. Over the course of production and delivery, this could support more than one million jobs in total.

The Boeing deal alone is valued at $96 billion. It stands as the largest-ever purchase of Boeing’s widebody aircraft and the largest single order of 787s to date.

Beyond aviation, the Qatar economic deal boosts US jobs across multiple sectors. Parsons Corporation won 30 major engineering projects in Qatar, valued at up to $97 billion. McDermott International continues operations with $8.5 billion in energy infrastructure deals.

Quantum technology is also part of the agreement. Quantinuum and Al Rabban Capital plan to invest up to $1 billion in quantum research and workforce development across the U.S.

Defense agreements were also highlighted in the deal. Raytheon signed a $1 billion deal to provide Qatar with advanced counter-drone systems. General Atomics reached a $2 billion agreement to supply MQ-9B Reaper drones.

The two nations also signed a statement of intent to expand investment at Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar. That agreement includes a potential $38 billion commitment to shared defense infrastructure, air defense systems, and maritime security efforts.

The Qatar economic deal boosts US jobs and adds momentum to President Trump’s broader regional strategy. The deal comes just days after Saudi Arabia pledged $600 billion in investment to the U.S.

Additionally, Qatar’s royal family offered the U.S. a Boeing 747-8 jumbo jet to serve as a temporary Air Force One. The plane, valued at $400 million, is intended to fill the gap while Boeing’s next-generation presidential aircraft remains delayed.

Though some critics raised concerns over the gift’s legal and security implications, the White House confirmed a legal review is underway. Officials maintain that the deal aligns with U.S. law and strategic interests.
