Dessert items also reflect modest inflation, with sweets increasing between 1 and 4 percent depending on the category. Therefore, households attempting to balance a full cookout menu must carefully adjust spending across multiple food groups.

At the same time, convenience-driven grocery choices add another layer of cost pressure. Pre-prepared foods often cost more due to labor, packaging, and transportation expenses. Consequently, consumers who prioritize convenience tend to face higher total bills.

Despite these increases, some cost-saving strategies remain available to shoppers. Cooking items from scratch can reduce overall expenses and allow more flexibility in menu planning. Additionally, selecting alternative proteins instead of beef helps lower total spending.
