UAE Missile Defense systems confronted an intense barrage as Iranian forces launched missiles and drones into Emirati airspace on the second day of escalating regional hostilities. Authorities confirmed three deaths and dozens of injuries while air defense units continued intercepting incoming threats across the country.
The Ministry of Defence in Abu Dhabi reported that forces tracked 165 ballistic missiles since February 28. Air defense crews destroyed 152 of those missiles, while thirteen fell into the sea.
Officials also detected two cruise missiles and successfully intercepted both projectiles before impact. Meanwhile, radar systems tracked 541 drones approaching the national airspace during the sustained assault.
Defense units intercepted and destroyed 506 of those drones before they reached targets. However, thirty-five drones landed inside the country, causing property damage in several areas.
On the second morning alone, forces destroyed twenty additional ballistic missiles mid-flight. Eight other missiles splashed into the sea without causing casualties on land.
Despite the high interception rate, twenty-one drones struck civilian locations across multiple emirates. Debris from intercepted missiles and drones fell into neighborhoods, damaging homes and commercial buildings.
Authorities confirmed that three foreign nationals died during the attacks. The victims included citizens of Pakistan, Nepal, and Bangladesh.
Medical teams treated fifty-eight people for mostly minor injuries sustained during the strikes. The injured represented numerous nationalities, reflecting the UAE’s diverse population.
Officials emphasized that the UAE Missile Defense capabilities addressed complex aerial threats effectively under pressure. Military commanders stated that air force units remain fully prepared for additional attacks.
Furthermore, the ministry urged residents to rely exclusively on official announcements for accurate updates. Authorities warned against spreading rumors or unverified information during the volatile security situation.
Leaders reiterated that protecting citizens, residents, and visitors remains their highest priority. Security agencies continue coordinating responses while monitoring regional developments closely.
As tensions persist across the Gulf, UAE Missile Defense forces stand on heightened alert. The coming days may determine whether diplomatic efforts can prevent further escalation.
