Trump Denies Third-Term Rumors, Shifts Focus to MAGA Legacy

President Donald Trump dismissed speculation about seeking a third term in the White House.

During a wide-ranging interview on Meet the Press, Trump firmly denied any plans to run again after a second term.”So many people want me to do it,” Trump said. “But it’s not something I’m thinking about doing.”

He acknowledged the constitutional barrier, although he questioned the legal clarity of the restriction. However, he stressed that preserving the MAGA legacy remains his primary goal.

When pressed about a possible successor, Trump pointed to Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio. “There’s tremendous unity,” Trump said. “If someone stands out, that person would clearly have an advantage.”

Trump praised both Vance and Rubio for their leadership and loyalty to the movement. As the interview continued, Trump shifted to immigration policy, one of his core focuses since returning to office. He made it clear the national emergency declaration would remain in place. “We’re facing a massive emergency,” Trump said. “There’s still a long road ahead.”

He claimed illegal border crossings have dropped 96% compared to the Biden administration.

Yet, Trump warned that legal setbacks threaten progress on deportations.”Judges want everyone to go through court,” he said. “That delays removals we need to make quickly.”Despite those challenges, Trump insisted the current plan remains effective and necessary. He argued the crisis goes beyond the border and involves internal national security risks.“We have thousands of people we must remove immediately,” he said.

As his 100th day in office approaches, Trump continues promoting the administration’s efforts. The White House reported over 139,000 deportations since inauguration.

Even so, Trump emphasized the fight is far from over.

Looking ahead, he promised to focus on preserving the MAGA legacy, regardless of future elections. He explained that leadership is about vision, not just personal ambition. As the interview concluded, Trump reiterated his belief in unity and strong leadership.

Above all, he stressed that preserving the MAGA legacy should guide the party beyond his presidency.
