A Mississippi family is seeking community support after a tragic car accident involving their three sons. The crash led to the death of their youngest son, 4-year-old Micah Braxton Lee Napper.
The heartbreaking incident happened when the family’s car flipped into a creek. According to a GoFundMe set up by Micah’s paternal uncle, Mike Napper, the family needs help with funeral costs and ongoing medical expenses. “Their 16-year-old son, who was driving, is currently in the ICU,” Napper explained. The couple’s 10-year-old son was airlifted for further treatment, while their 4-year-old tragically passed away.
North Forrest Volunteer Fire Department responded to the crash, receiving a report of a single-vehicle accident with injuries. Chief Brandon Odom said the vehicle had veered off River Road, flipped into a creek, and landed upside down. Two of the children had managed to exit the vehicle, but Micah remained trapped inside. Emergency crews freed him but were unable to save his life.
“The 4-year-old tragically succumbed to his injuries at the scene,” Odom said. The older brothers were rushed to a nearby hospital with serious injuries. Micah’s family faces financial hardship, as they lack insurance and have limited resources.
The GoFundMe, which has raised over $26,000, will assist with funeral expenses and medical bills. “Any support would mean the world to them during this unimaginable time,” Napper wrote.
Micah’s obituary describes him as a joyful, energetic boy who loved wrestling with his dad and older brothers. “His laughter and enthusiasm left lasting impressions on all who knew him,” the obituary reads.
The Forrest County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation into the accident. Micah’s funeral is scheduled for 11:30 a.m.
