SambaNova Funding has reached a major milestone after the AI chip company secured $1 billion in new investment. The funding round values SambaNova Systems at $11 billion as demand for AI infrastructure continues growing worldwide.
General Atlantic led the first close of SambaNova’s Series F funding round. Additional investors are expected to participate during the second close. The company said the new capital will help accelerate future expansion and strengthen its market position.
The latest investment comes only five months after SambaNova introduced its SN50 AI chip. Earlier, the company completed a $350 million Series E funding round in February 2026. The rapid succession of funding rounds reflects continued investor confidence in AI hardware development.
SambaNova continues attracting attention from major technology companies and investors. Chief Executive Officer Rodrigo Liang said the company regularly receives interest from potential partners and buyers. However, he emphasized that SambaNova remains focused on growing independently.
Liang also said the company may consider different opportunities in the future. He added that sustained business growth could eventually support a public listing. For now, SambaNova continues strengthening its position in the increasingly competitive AI market.
The company has also expanded its collaboration with Intel. Together, the two companies are developing AI inference solutions that combine SambaNova technology with Intel’s Xeon processors. The partnership aims to deliver advanced hardware while expanding market reach.
SambaNova recently announced a major partnership with JPMorganChase. The bank selected the company as an inference infrastructure partner for secure AI operations. As part of the agreement, JPMorganChase plans to deploy SambaNova’s SN40L and SN50 systems for private AI workloads.
According to SambaNova, this agreement reflects a broader shift across industries. More organizations are choosing private AI systems instead of relying exclusively on cloud-based services. Financial institutions, in particular, are seeking secure infrastructure for sensitive operations.
The company expects banks, governments, and enterprises to increase AI investments over the coming years. SambaNova believes many organizations are still in the early stages of AI adoption, creating significant long-term growth opportunities across multiple sectors.
SambaNova launched its SN40L platform in 2023 before introducing the SN50 chip in February 2026. Customer shipments of the newer system are scheduled to begin during the second half of 2026.
SoftBank will become the first deployment partner for the SN50 platform. SambaNova says the chip supports large AI models with improved performance, positioning the company to compete more aggressively in the expanding AI hardware market.
The company specializes in premium AI inference solutions designed for advanced workloads. SambaNova says its technology can run multi-trillion-parameter models within a single rack, providing significant performance advantages for enterprise customers.
SambaNova currently serves three primary customer groups: sovereign cloud providers, AI cloud companies, and enterprises building private AI systems. In addition to JPMorganChase and Intel, the company also counts Saudi Aramco among its customers. Several Japanese companies have also adopted SambaNova’s technology, highlighting growing demand for private AI infrastructure across multiple industries.
Meanwhile, SambaNova Funding will support business expansion and strengthen the company’s supply chain. The investment will help secure critical materials and increase manufacturing capacity to meet rising customer demand.
Liang said customer demand remains strong across global markets. He explained that the new capital will enable SambaNova to deliver products more efficiently while supporting continued business growth in the years ahead.
Several investment firms joined the funding round alongside General Atlantic, including BlackRock, Battery Ventures, Capital Group, and Qatar Investment Authority. Their participation reflects growing confidence in companies developing specialized AI infrastructure and hardware.
SambaNova Funding highlights the increasing importance of AI infrastructure providers as artificial intelligence adoption accelerates worldwide. With fresh capital, expanding partnerships, and growing customer demand, the company aims to strengthen its role in supporting the next generation of AI technologies.
