Lone Shooter Kills Four in NYC Office Building

A lone shooter opened fire in a New York City office building, killing four people and injuring several others. Police identified the gunman as a man from Las Vegas with a known mental health history. Authorities confirmed the suspect acted alone during the attack.

The lone shooter arrived at the building carrying a rifle. Surveillance footage showed him exiting a vehicle and walking toward the entrance without any companions. Once inside the lobby, he immediately fired at an NYPD officer standing nearby. He then shot a woman who tried to take cover behind a pillar.

Moving quickly through the lobby, the lone shooter continued firing at people, including a security guard hiding behind the desk. Another man was also shot in the lobby but survived and later spoke from the hospital. The gunman then entered the elevator, allowing a woman to exit safely before heading to the 33rd floor.

On that floor, the lone shooter continued firing and killed one more person. Afterward, he walked down a hallway and shot himself in the chest. Police confirmed no other suspects were involved and reassured the public that no active threat remains.

The building hosts offices for major firms, including financial and legal companies, but investigators have not yet identified a specific target. The motive behind the shooting remains unknown.

New York City’s mayor spoke about one of the victims, an off-duty police officer who died during the attack. The officer was a devoted father with a growing family. City officials praised his courage and commitment to protecting the community.

Authorities have not released the names of the other victims, waiting to notify their families. One person remains in critical condition, while several others received minor injuries while escaping the scene.

Security personnel and law enforcement received praise for their quick actions during the incident. The lone shooter’s rampage left the city grieving, as officials continue their investigation into this tragic event.
