Kansas City Shooting Spree Suspect Sought in FBI Manhunt with $25K Reward

A Kansas City shooting spree has triggered a multi-agency manhunt for a 22-year-old suspect. Authorities accuse him of violent attacks across Kansas and Missouri. They also say he fired at vehicles near a FIFA World Cup venue at Arrowhead Stadium.

The FBI identified the suspect as Oscar Sanchez-Munoz. It announced a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to his arrest and conviction. Officials describe him as armed and dangerous and continue to urge the public to avoid contact.

Sanchez-Munoz is a White and Hispanic male weighing about 184 pounds. He stands 5 feet 8 inches tall with brown hair and brown eyes. Investigators also note a tattoo on his right forearm along with visible acne scars.

Authorities say the Kansas City shooting spree began after several incidents across state lines. On June 11, the suspect allegedly fired at a vehicle in Wyandotte County, Kansas. A warrant followed shortly afterward.

In addition, he faces another warrant in the same county for aggravated assault. That charge carries a $100,000 bond.

Officials with the Kansas City Police Department believe he carried out five shootings Tuesday night. The attacks occurred in Kansas City, Missouri along Interstate 70 near Arrowhead Stadium. FIFA World Cup matches were underway at the time.

One person died in the shootings. Another suffered serious injuries. Several others sustained wounds, including an Uber driver transporting fans to a World Cup match between Argentina and Algeria.

The Kansas City shooting spree later escalated into a standoff in Independence, Missouri. Law enforcement says the suspect barricaded himself inside a home. The situation ended when the house caught fire.

Fire crews extinguished the blaze after arriving at the scene. Investigators then secured the property for a full search operation. K-9 units joined Missouri State Fire Marshals, but they did not locate the suspect.

Authorities recovered a vehicle believed to be connected to the shootings. However, officials have not released any information about a possible motive.

Residents continue to receive warnings to stay alert. Law enforcement urges the public to report any sightings immediately.
