Smart Glasses continue attracting major investment as Even Realities secured $150 million in new funding, reaching a valuation of $1 billion. The latest investment reflects growing confidence in wearable technology as companies develop advanced devices with artificial intelligence capabilities. Investors expect demand for lightweight, practical products to expand across global consumer markets during the coming years.
The Shenzhen-based startup completed its pre-Series B funding round with support from Meituan and existing investor Tencent. Earlier investors also continued backing the company after its rapid commercial growth since launching operations during 2023. The fresh capital will help accelerate product development while supporting broader international expansion across key technology markets.
Former Apple engineers founded Even Realities with the goal of creating wearable displays focused on everyday productivity instead of content creation. Chief Executive Officer Will Wang previously contributed to Apple Watch and iPhone development before launching the new venture. Several additional founders also brought experience from both technology companies and premium eyewear manufacturers.
The company introduced its first commercial product during 2024 and quickly exceeded internal expectations for customer demand worldwide. Company executives reported sales surpassed their original target of 10,000 units, marking an important commercial milestone. Strong sales also encouraged rapid hiring as the workforce expanded from several dozen employees into several hundred staff members.
The latest G2 model follows a different strategy than many competing products entering today’s wearable technology market. Instead of including built-in cameras, the device projects useful information directly into the wearer’s field of vision. Users control navigation through a companion smart ring that supports tapping and swiping gestures during everyday activities.
Company executives believe removing onboard cameras strengthens customer privacy while making the glasses more socially acceptable for public use. Voice-powered translation converts conversations into text without permanently storing audio recordings on company servers. Additionally, encrypted user information and privacy-focused infrastructure support compliance with demanding international data protection standards.
Smart Glasses also include an intelligent assistant called Conversate that supports users during meetings and daily conversations. The system explains unfamiliar terminology, suggests relevant follow-up responses, and creates summaries that synchronize directly with smartphones afterward. These capabilities target professionals seeking practical productivity improvements instead of entertainment-focused wearable experiences.
Meanwhile, company engineers concentrated significant resources on optical technology that differentiates wearable displays from traditional electronic products. Wang explained that optical displays require integrated development across microchips, waveguides, and prescription lens compatibility from the beginning. Therefore, the company developed its proprietary Even HAO optical platform to improve image quality and overall viewing performance.
More than half of the company’s customers currently live in the United States, representing its fastest-growing international market. Developers supporting the platform also primarily operate within the United States, encouraging continued software innovation and ecosystem growth. Although manufacturing remains based in China, the company currently focuses sales across America, Japan, South Korea, Europe, and the Middle East.
Even Realities has not yet introduced commercial sales inside China despite maintaining manufacturing partnerships across several production facilities. Company leaders stated they prefer strengthening operations within existing markets before expanding into additional regional opportunities. This measured approach allows the business to support growing demand while maintaining product quality and customer satisfaction.
Smart Glasses remain positioned within the premium wearable technology segment, with retail pricing beginning at $599 before applicable taxes. Customers purchasing prescription lenses and the companion control ring typically spend approximately $1,000 for complete product packages. Company executives also reported that professionals between 30 and 50 years old represent their largest customer group. Internal survey results further indicated that roughly one-third of current users hold executive leadership positions within their organizations.
