Epstein Investigation Closure Raises Questions About Pam Bondi’s Comments

The recent Epstein investigation closure by the DOJ and FBI has sparked controversy. Attorney General Pam Bondi now faces intense scrutiny over remarks she made earlier this year. Those comments appeared to conflict with the official memo announcing the investigation’s end.

On Monday, reporters pressed the White House about Bondi’s February statements. Back then, she seemed to confirm a secret list of Epstein’s sex-trafficking clients. Peter Doocy asked Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt to clarify. Leavitt responded by saying Bondi referred to “all of the paperwork” related to Epstein’s crimes. She added Bondi would speak for herself.

During a TV interview, Bondi said she was reviewing a “list of Epstein’s clients” following a directive from President Trump. However, the newly released DOJ and FBI memo shut down those theories. The document clearly stated the review found no incriminating client list. Instead, it called the idea a conspiracy promoted by some Trump supporters.

Some of those supporters included former FBI Director Kash Patel and Deputy Director Dan Bongino. They pushed the list’s existence before joining the bureau. However, the memo’s findings contradict those claims. It stressed the systematic review revealed no evidence of such a list.

Bondi’s credibility took a hit after she teased releasing explosive Epstein evidence in February. Yet, she failed to share new information publicly. Instead, she blamed the FBI’s New York office for withholding thousands of pages.

At that time, the Trump administration allowed select right-wing influencers into the White House. They received binders labeled “classified” and “Epstein Files: Phase 1.” Pictures showed the visitors smiling with those binders. Later, the materials leaked online but mostly contained public court documents.

Following the memo’s release, some influencers expressed disbelief on social media. Liz Wheeler demanded Bondi’s firing. Mike Cernovich criticized the FBI and DOJ’s communication, calling it confusing. Rogan O’Handley labeled the situation a “shameful chapter” in U.S. history.

In response to questions, Leavitt said some material was too graphic to release. She specifically mentioned child pornography as inappropriate for public viewing.

The Epstein investigation closure remains a flashpoint, fueling debates about transparency and justice.
