Trump Administration Engages with Multiple Buyers for TikTok Sale

U.S. President Donald Trump confirmed on Sunday that his administration is in discussions with four different groups regarding the sale of TikTok, the Chinese-owned social media giant. Trump emphasized that all potential buyers are strong contenders and that “all options are good.”

The future of TikTok has been uncertain since a law requiring its parent company, ByteDance, to either divest the platform on national security grounds or face a ban took effect on January 19. After assuming office on January 20, Trump signed an executive order delaying the enforcement of the law by 75 days, giving TikTok and potential buyers more time to negotiate a deal.

When asked about the likelihood of an imminent agreement, Trump responded, “It could,” but did not provide further details on a timeline.

Among those expressing interest in acquiring TikTok is former Los Angeles Dodgers owner Frank McCourt, alongside other investors eyeing the social media platform, which analysts estimate could be worth up to $50 billion.

TikTok and ByteDance have yet to issue an official response regarding the ongoing negotiations. As discussions continue, the fate of one of the world’s most popular social media apps remains uncertain.
