TAG Heuer has introduced the Connected Calibre E5, a new smartwatch designed specifically for iPhone users. The brand has moved from Google’s Wear OS to its own system, TAG Heuer OS, improving compatibility with iPhones. This change results in faster pairing and more reliable connectivity, providing a smoother experience for users.
The TAG Heuer smartwatch comes in two sizes: a 45mm model with a 1.39-inch AMOLED display and a 40mm version with a 1.20-inch AMOLED screen. Both models offer enhanced brightness, better haptic feedback, and improved touch responsiveness. These upgrades deliver a more intuitive and seamless user experience, especially for iPhone users.
The TAG Heuer OS was developed by a team of 60 engineers in Paris, and it significantly streamlines the interface while speeding up navigation. It also improves integration between the watch and iPhones, enabling users to interact easily with both the touchscreen and the physical pushers. This shift makes the smartwatch even more appealing to iPhone users, who represent 70% of TAG Heuer’s smartwatch customers.
Additionally, the smartwatch has earned the “Made for iPhone” (MFi) certification, ensuring better integration with Apple devices. The watch offers faster Bluetooth and Wi-Fi pairing, reliable data synchronization, and consistent updates with iOS. As a result, features like health data syncing now work seamlessly with iPhones, making the experience more efficient.
Fitness and wellness features remain central to the device. The watch tracks heart rate, blood oxygen levels, sleep, and provides advanced GPS with dual-band GNSS. It also includes sensors for a compass, accelerometer, and gyroscope, enhancing its functionality. However, the Calibre E5 does not support third-party apps or LTE connectivity. Instead, it focuses on essential features, appealing to iPhone users who prioritize fitness tracking.
Battery life has improved as well. The 45mm model lasts up to three days in low-power mode and two days with regular use. Meanwhile, the 40mm version offers up to 1.5 days of battery life with the always-on display activated. Users can charge the watch fully in 90 minutes, or they can get a full day’s charge in just 30-40 minutes.
Starting at $1,600, the TAG Heuer Connected Calibre E5 is now available through TAG Heuer boutiques and online. With its enhanced performance and user experience, the smartwatch provides a premium option for iPhone users. As the demand for seamless integration with Apple products continues to rise, TAG Heuer will likely refine its platform further to meet the needs of its growing customer base.
