Lil Nas X Pleads Not Guilty to Felony Charges Amid Arrest Drama

Rapper Lil Nas X pleads not guilty after he faces serious felony charges following his August 21 arrest. The “Industry Baby” artist appeared in court on Monday, August 25. During the hearing, he waived his arraignment and entered a not guilty plea to three counts of battery causing injury to a police officer. He also faces one count of resisting an executive officer. The Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office confirmed these details.

The judge set Lil Nas X’s bail at $75,000 and ordered him to attend four Narcotics Anonymous meetings each week. Authorities suspect that the rapper acted under the influence during the incident. However, Lil Nas X’s attorney, Christy O’Connor, said it is too early to conclude anything. The test results remain pending. O’Connor described the arrest as “an absolute aberration” in his life and stressed that he has never behaved this way before.

Outside the courthouse, attorney Drew Findling expressed confidence in Lil Nas X’s future. He said, “He has never been in trouble for a second. This event won’t change the path of his amazing life.” Findling also noted the pressures young celebrities face under international attention. He added they will investigate the event carefully and do the right thing.

Lil Nas X’s father, Robert Stafford, briefly spoke to reporters. He said his son feels “great mentally” and asked fans to keep him in their prayers. The rapper must return to court on September 15 for another pre-trial hearing.

The Los Angeles Police Department responded to reports of a man naked on Ventura Boulevard just before 6 a.m. on August 21. They identified the suspect as Lil Nas X. He allegedly resisted officers and assaulted a peace officer, which led to his booking on multiple felony charges.

After the arrest, officers took Lil Nas X to a hospital for evaluation and later discharged him. TMZ published photos showing him walking on Ventura Boulevard in underwear and boots early that morning. Multiple emergency calls mentioned a possible overdose, but police could not confirm that.

In recent months, Lil Nas X has shared his struggles with mental health and physical setbacks, including facial paralysis earlier this year. Despite these challenges, he released a new EP, Days Before Dreamboy, in March. The rapper continues to express confidence in his creative vision and music.
