The violent crime surge began on Friday evening. A teenage girl was the first shooting victim. Just fifteen minutes later, a teenage boy was also shot. A particularly shocking incident occurred near Howard University. Five individuals were shot just steps from the campus. The university was hosting its homecoming celebration at the time. Thankfully, none of the victims were Howard students. However, one victim does attend Morgan State University. Police quickly arrested two nineteen-year-old suspects.
