Trump Highlights Rapid Action in First Six Weeks of Return to Office

President Donald Trump is set to highlight the flurry of actions taken during his initial six weeks back in the White House as he prepares to address Congress and the nation in a high-profile speech on Tuesday.

“Best opening month of any president in history,” Trump proclaimed in a recent social media post, celebrating his achievements—many of which have sparked debate—since returning to office on January 20.

On the eve of this significant address, Trump promised, “TOMORROW NIGHT WILL BE BIG. I WILL TELL IT LIKE IT IS!”

Public opinion remains divided on his performance thus far. One recent poll places his approval rating at 45%, with 49% disapproving, while another survey from the same period measured his approval at 48% and disapproval at 52%.

Other polls have shown slightly more favorable numbers for Trump, though they underscore a stark partisan divide. The vast majority of Democrats continue to disapprove of his presidency, while Republicans overwhelmingly support him.

Despite mixed reactions, his current approval ratings mark an improvement from his first term, when he started with negative numbers and remained underwater throughout his tenure. A key factor in this shift is his strengthened support within his own party.

Political analyst Daron Shaw noted that while Trump struggled with some Republicans during his first administration, his party now stands firmly behind him. “That’s one acute difference between 2017 and 2025. The party’s completely solidified behind him,” he explained.

Trump has acted swiftly during his return to office, issuing numerous executive orders and taking aggressive steps to implement key campaign promises. His recent actions have allowed him to assert control over the federal government, significantly reduce the federal workforce, and address long-standing political grievances.
