Trump and Secret Service Respond to Widow of Rally Shooting Victim

The Secret Service is listening, says Helen Comperatore, the widow of Corey Comperatore, who was killed during a Trump rally shooting. After a year of silence, she says authorities are finally responding.

President Donald Trump called her after watching her emotional Fox News interview. He assured her that he would always be there for her and her family. His message was heartfelt and direct. Helen confirmed the call brought some comfort during a painful time.

Secret Service Director Sean Curran also reached out to her. He told her that he was heartbroken after seeing her speak. Curran promised to personally meet with her to review the tragic case.

However, Helen made it clear that she wants answers. “We were all sitting ducks that day,” she said. Her frustration was evident. “Our blood is all over their hands. I lost the love of my life,” she added. She directly blamed the Secret Service for what she calls catastrophic failures.

Gunman Thomas Crooks climbed onto a rooftop and fired eight shots. Corey Comperatore, a volunteer firefighter, was killed instantly. Helen raised critical questions. “Why Butler? Why was that such a failure?” she asked. She questioned the decision not to secure the rooftop. Her pain and anger demand accountability.

Curran apologized for the lack of updates over the past year. He assured Helen that now that he leads the agency, things will change. He vowed to address all of her concerns.

Additionally, Helen noted that for the first time, the Secret Service is listening. After months of silence, the communication feels like a breakthrough. She hopes it leads to real change.

During their call, Trump assured her that the victims’ families would stay forever connected by the tragedy. He promised to release a full report about the assassination attempt, though officials have not shared a release date.

Following the shooting, the Secret Service suspended six agents without pay or benefits. The agency announced the disciplinary action on Wednesday.

For Helen Comperatore, the pain remains, but so does the fight. Her mission now is clear: to ensure that what happened in Butler never happens again. And she won’t stop until real accountability is served—because now, the Secret Service is listening.
