A South Carolina mother murdered in random attack has left the Lancaster community shaken. Authorities say Larisha Sharell Thompson, 40, died while driving her car during a violent incident. This senseless crime occurred in Lancaster, a small city near the North Carolina border.
Deputies quickly launched an investigation into the South Carolina mother murdered in random attack. They connected the case to an earlier gas station burglary. During that incident, someone fired a handgun, damaging both a camera and a bathroom door.
Investigators collected bullet casings and sent them to the state crime lab. The lab confirmed that the same 9 mm handgun was used in both the burglary and the murder. Surveillance footage helped identify a suspect’s car seen at both crime scenes.
Deputies later searched the home of Asael Aminadas Torres-Chirinos, 21. There, they recovered the gun used to kill the South Carolina mother murdered in random attack. They also arrested Jarby Ardon Ramos-Odari, 18, and Jeyson Sobied Pineda-Salgado, 17.
Three more suspects, ages 13, 14, and 15, were taken into custody. All six face charges including murder, attempted armed robbery, and burglary. The juveniles will face their charges in juvenile court.
Police believe the group tried to rob Thompson after the shooting but couldn’t enter her locked vehicle. Authorities charged Torres-Chirinos with extra firearm violations, including possession by an undocumented immigrant.
The adults are now in the Lancaster County Detention Center. The juveniles remain in custody at a juvenile facility. All six face possible deportation under federal immigration law.
