Samsung and LG Consider Shifting Factories to USA Amid New Tariffs

The White House has revealed that South Korean tech giants Samsung and LG are considering relocating some of their manufacturing operations to the United States. This information was included in a document titled “50 Wins for the American People in President Trump’s First 50 Days,” recently released by the US government.

According to reports from South Korea, both companies are specifically exploring the possibility of moving their refrigerator and washing machine factories from Mexico to the USA. This strategic shift appears to be in response to newly implemented tariffs on goods imported into the United States.

The move aligns with President Donald Trump’s campaign promise to revitalize American manufacturing. Since his inauguration in January, the Trump administration has imposed significant tariffs on countries that apply substantial import duties on US exports, including China, India, and South Korea.

Samsung has already invested billions of dollars in the United States for advanced semiconductor chip production, and may now make similar investments in domestic home appliance manufacturing facilities.

Industry analysts expect more companies to invest heavily in US-based operations to mitigate the impact of these new tariff policies.
