Democratic lawmakers are intensifying demands to release the Epstein files as GOP divisions widen over the issue.
Representative Marc Veasey of Texas announced plans to file a resolution this week. His resolution urges full disclosure of documents related to Jeffrey Epstein’s case. Veasey posted on X, challenging the Trump administration. “Put up or shut up!” he wrote, fueling the growing partisan pressure.
Similarly, Representative Ro Khanna from California joined the call. He promised to introduce an amendment forcing a vote on the matter. “Why are the Epstein files still hidden?” Khanna asked. “Who are the rich and powerful being protected?”
Meanwhile, Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez caused controversy online. She referenced past sexual assault allegations against Trump in relation to the Epstein case. “Wow. Who would have thought electing a rapist would complicate this?” she wrote, igniting social media backlash.
Furthermore, Senator Jon Ossoff, running for re-election in Georgia, echoed the concern. He blasted Trump’s earlier promise to release the Epstein files. “He partied with Epstein,” Ossoff said. “Did anyone really think he’d follow through?”
Moreover, Internal conflicts are now shaking the GOP. Steve Bannon and Laura Loomer have accused Attorney General Pam Bondi of mishandling the Epstein investigation.
Others like attorney Mike Davis have defended Bondi. Trump also weighed in, urging Americans to support her efforts.
Despite mounting political chaos, Democrats appear determined to capitalize. Representative Jimmy Gomez challenged the White House after a recent ICE raid. “If you care about exploitation,” Gomez wrote, “release the Epstein files.”
Meanwhile, Deputy FBI Director Dan Bongino is reportedly considering resignation. However, both Bondi and FBI Director Kash Patel remain confident in their positions. Patel dismissed the rumors. “The conspiracy theories aren’t true,” he said. “I’ll continue serving the president proudly.”
White House spokesman Harrison Fields defended the team. He praised Trump’s appointees as patriots focused on law and order. As momentum builds, pressure continues to mount on the administration to end the secrecy.
