According to authorities, Atlanta police responded to reports of gunfire and a possible domestic incident at a residence on William Nye Drive SE. When officers arrived, a man opened the door before quickly shutting it, prompting police to establish a perimeter. Two men later fled from the back of the house one returned inside, while Young Scooter attempted to escape by jumping two fences. Officers found him injured on the other side, and he was transported to Grady Marcus Trauma Center, where he later died.

Police confirmed that Scooter’s injuries were not caused by officers but occurred during his attempt to flee. The Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office has not yet determined an official cause of death, pending an autopsy.

Young Scooter, a prominent figure in Atlanta’s hip-hop scene, rose to fame in the 2010s, collaborating with artists like Future, Waka Flocka Flame, Young Thug, and Rick Ross. Known for his raw, street-inspired lyrics, he once told Complex in 2013, “I don’t really care what I say on a beat as long as it’s about some money.”

His sudden death has sent shockwaves through the hip-hop community, with fans and fellow artists mourning the loss of a relentless hustler and influential voice in the genre.
