Outright Constant Killing of Civilians Must End, Says Clinton Amid Israel-Iran Tensions

Former President Bill Clinton has urged President Donald Trump to step in and defuse rising tensions between Israel and Iran. Clinton voiced deep concern over the outright constant killing of civilians and the possibility of a wider conflict in the Middle East.

The U.S. has so far avoided direct military involvement. However, it has supported Israel by intercepting missiles launched from Tehran. Reports suggest that the Trump administration may consider a more active role soon.

Clinton did not hold back his criticism of both Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and President Trump. He questioned their real intentions for peace. According to him, neither leader supports the creation of a Palestinian state. He noted that under Netanyahu, Israel has shown no signs of giving Palestinians a fair chance at sovereignty.

“The Palestinians are too divided and weakened to organize for statehood,” Clinton stated firmly. He believes Trump shares Netanyahu’s stance that Palestinians “shouldn’t have a state.” However, Clinton emphasized that both leaders still want to avoid a full-blown regional war.

Clinton pointed out that Netanyahu may be using conflict with Iran to stay in power. “He’s been in charge for most of the last 20 years,” he remarked. The former president called on Trump to focus on diplomacy and de-escalation instead.

“I hope President Trump will help to defuse it,” Clinton said. He added that the U.S. must protect its allies, but not by fueling endless violence. Clinton warned against supporting undeclared wars where innocent people pay the price.

He stressed that many civilians caught in the crossfire only want to live peaceful lives. He condemned the outright constant killing of civilians as inhumane and politically reckless.

Clinton admitted that stopping Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons remains important. But he reiterated that this should not come at the cost of innocent lives. “We have to try to stop Iran,” he said, “but not through outright constant killing of civilians.”
