New WhatsApp Chat Color Update Adds 18 Options

WhatsApp has rolled out a colorful surprise for Android users. The WhatsApp chat color update adds 18 brand-new color options for chat themes. This change boosts the total number of color choices from 20 to 38. Android now matches the iOS version, which received this same update earlier in the month.

WhatsApp continues to improve personalization features. Thanks to this update, users can now pick from a wider range of colors. They can apply these colors to individual chats or make changes across the entire app. If you like customizing your chat experience, this update is made for you.

To set a color for one chat, open the conversation you want to change. Tap the three-dot menu in the top right corner. Then go to “Themes” and select your preferred chat color. If you want to apply a theme color for all chats, head to Settings. From there, select “Chats” and then “Chat Theme” to change the default color across your app.

The best part of this WhatsApp chat color update is compatibility. These colors work in both light and dark mode. They apply to your message bubbles only. Unlike Messenger, these theme changes are not visible to your chat partner. Only the user who makes the change can see it.

Although this feature is part of the beta version 2.25.19.2, not everyone has it yet. Even beta testers might need to wait as the rollout continues in stages. If you use the regular stable version of WhatsApp, you may have to wait a little longer.

This update may seem small, but it adds to user satisfaction. People love customizing their apps, and colors are a fun way to do it. With messaging apps competing fiercely, every small improvement counts.

The WhatsApp chat color update is another step to keep users happy and engaged. Personalization continues to be a key focus for WhatsApp. And with more users looking for fresh ways to make their chats unique, this update couldn’t come at a better time.
