Miami man charged with attempted murder after parking dispute turns violent in Wynwood

A Miami man charged with attempted murder is now behind bars after a heated parking dispute turned violent. The shocking incident unfolded on April 11 outside an Airbnb in Miami’s Wynwood neighborhood. Police say the conflict began over something as trivial as a tight parking space.

According to the arrest report, the confrontation happened around 11 p.m. when the victim returned from an outing. He was attempting to park his gray Toyota Tacoma near the Airbnb, where he was staying with his girlfriend and cousin. As he maneuvered into the narrow space, the driver of a white Porsche Macan began honking.

When the victim asked why he was honking, the driver reportedly replied he was “taking too long.” The situation quickly escalated. The suspect, later identified as Anthony Russian, allegedly pulled out a firearm. He then pointed it at the victim’s torso and attempted to shoot.

The gun malfunctioned twice, police said. However, on the third attempt, Russian allegedly fired and struck the victim in the right foot. The injured man did not wait for emergency services. Instead, he drove himself to Ryder Trauma Center for treatment.

Detectives quickly launched an investigation. The victim later identified Russian through a photo lineup. Officers located Russian on May 7 near Fifth Street and Collins Avenue in Miami Beach. They arrested him on the spot.

The Miami man charged with attempted murder now faces serious legal consequences. He has also been charged with using a firearm during the commission of a felony. Authorities have confirmed that Russian is being held without bond while the case proceeds.

This violent episode highlights how minor disputes can lead to life-threatening situations. The Airbnb guest suffered a gunshot wound simply because of a delay in parking. Miami officials continue to investigate the incident thoroughly.

The Miami man charged with attempted murder will appear in court in the coming weeks. His legal team has yet to release a public statement.
