A 41-year-old man caused panic and disruption on an easyJet flight after he claimed to have a bomb onboard. He was traveling from London’s Luton Airport to Glasgow, Scotland, when he suddenly shouted for the plane to stop. Passengers quickly recorded the disturbing scene as the man repeatedly said, “Man claims bomb on plane, threatens Trump,” sparking alarm and fear throughout the cabin.
At first, the man loudly demanded, “Stop the plane!” Then, he ordered others to “Find the bomb on the plane.” His threats escalated as he yelled, “Death to America. Death to Trump,” targeting the U.S. president. The man continued shouting “Allahu Akbar,” an Arabic phrase meaning “God is great,” multiple times. Many passengers felt frightened and quickly reacted. One brave passenger tackled the man to the ground, and another helped hold him down while instructing, “Sit down. Don’t move.”
The flight crew acted swiftly to control the situation. They reassured passengers by announcing that the plane would land very soon. Their calm and professional response helped reduce tension inside the cabin. Once passengers calmed down, some began questioning the man about his claims. Several asked if he really had a bomb or if he had consumed drugs or alcohol.
Police Scotland boarded the plane upon landing and arrested the man. Officers confirmed that he remains in custody while they continue investigating. Authorities said counterterrorism teams are reviewing videos from the incident. They believe, for now, that only this man was involved and that no one else participated. Police added that they quickly contained the situation and found no further threat.
EasyJet also addressed the incident. The airline confirmed the crew removed the man due to his disruptive behavior. A spokesperson praised the crew for acting decisively and prioritizing passenger safety. “EasyJet’s crew train to assess all situations and act quickly to protect passengers,” the spokesperson explained.
At this stage, authorities have not disclosed any charges the man might face. They also have not released information about his legal representation. This case highlights the importance of remaining vigilant on flights and the quick actions of passengers and crew when safety feels threatened.
