Make Health Tech Great Again: Trump Unveils Digital Healthcare Push

Make Health Tech Great Again has become the latest effort by President Donald Trump to modernize American healthcare. On Wednesday, Trump hosted a major event at the White House focused on health technology innovation and public-private cooperation.

Standing alongside top health officials and tech executives, Trump announced a voluntary commitment. Over 60 major tech and healthcare firms have agreed to work together. Their goal: to improve how health records are shared and accessed. “America’s healthcare system needs a tech revolution,” Trump declared during the event. “We’re leaving clipboards and fax machines behind.”

The pledge was made during the Make Health Tech Great Again event. Major firms like Apple, Amazon, Samsung, Oracle, and Google joined the effort. Each company will contribute to building a more efficient and secure digital health system.

This initiative focuses heavily on interoperability. That means allowing different systems to communicate easily. According to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), better tech will lead to faster care and fewer errors. Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said change was long overdue. “Bureaucrats buried health data for decades,” he said. “That ends today.”

He emphasized putting patients in control. Soon, people will access records, track conditions, and manage care through one app. In fact, “We’re giving Americans the tools to manage their health on their own terms,” Kennedy said. Moreover, these new apps will target major health concerns. That includes diabetes, obesity, and chronic illness management. Patients, in turn, will gain access to AI-driven assistants. These tools will help track symptoms and schedule appointments easily.

Meanwhile, Dr. Mehmet Oz, CMS Administrator, voiced strong support for the new digital healthcare plan. “People are tired of waiting,” Oz said firmly. “They deserve faster, smarter healthcare.” Furthermore, he stressed that medical records belong to individuals. Americans should always access their health data without barriers.

“This administration is finally making that a reality,” Oz emphasized. In addition, CMS plans to launch a Medicare app library soon. This resource will guide seniors to trusted digital health tools. These apps will also streamline digital check-ins and eliminate paper-based intake processes, reducing delays and inefficiencies.

Previously, in May, CMS requested feedback from healthcare providers and tech companies on improving health technology interoperability. Using that input, officials shaped the plan now being implemented through broad private-sector cooperation. Although participation is voluntary, companies agreed to share data securely and efficiently to improve healthcare outcomes.

Consequently, their collaboration represents a major shift in health data sharing and management. Ultimately, the Make Health Tech Great Again plan could transform how patients experience everyday healthcare in America. By encouraging public-private partnerships, the administration aims to cut wait times, reduce costs, and empower patients nationwide.
