Immigration Crisis Drives Trump’s UN Speech and Ryder Cup Visit

Immigration crisis dominated Donald Trump’s message during a busy and high-profile week. On Tuesday, the former president addressed the United Nations General Assembly. He focused his speech on illegal immigration and border security.

Trump warned that Europe faces a serious threat from an ongoing wave of illegal migrants. He claimed open border policies are causing the region to collapse. “Europe is in serious trouble,” Trump said. “They’ve allowed an invasion like nobody’s ever seen before.”

He blamed political correctness for inaction, stating that leaders are failing their citizens. According to Trump, the current approach to migration is unsustainable and dangerous. “Countries are going to hell,” he warned, repeating his position that unchecked immigration harms national sovereignty.

Trump urged the United Nations to stop financing global migration. Instead, he said it must help protect borders, not weaken them. “The U.N. should stop invasions, not create them,” he said. He described a future where each nation defends its own people first.

He also explained why the United States rejects open borders. Trump said America refuses to let anyone compromise its laws, systems, or safety. “America belongs to the American people,” he said. He called on world leaders to protect their countries in the same way.

Immigration crisis came up again as Trump shifted his attention to the ongoing war in Ukraine. After meeting with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Trump expressed renewed confidence in Ukraine’s position. In his view, Ukraine, with strong European support, can eventually reclaim all of its lost territory from Russia.

Later that day, he shared his thoughts in a post on Truth Social. In it, Trump claimed that Russia has repeatedly failed to show military strength during the prolonged conflict. Furthermore, he mocked Russia’s performance, labeling its military a “paper tiger.” He argued that, with continued backing from NATO, Ukraine could realistically restore its original borders.

Finally, Trump ended the week far from politics and diplomacy. On Friday, he made an appearance at the 2025 Ryder Cup held at Bethpage Black Course in Farmingdale, New York. He was joined by his granddaughter Kai during the visit. As a result, large crowds gathered to see Trump at the prestigious golf event.

This was his third major sports event appearance in September. Earlier, he attended the U.S. Open men’s final and a Yankees game on September 11. Immigration crisis remained his key talking point throughout the week—both at the United Nations and across social media.
