Google Classroom has just rolled out support for 17 additional languages, further enhancing its reach and usability for educators and students across the globe. With this update, the platform now supports over 70 languages, making digital learning more inclusive than ever.
Newly added languages include Afrikaans, Assamese, Estonian, French Canadian, Icelandic, Kazakh, and Swahili. In the coming weeks, more will join the list including Georgian, Irish, Macedonian, Nepali, Sinhala, and Uzbek. These changes will be reflected automatically based on the user’s Google Account or device language settings, whether on web or mobile.
It’s worth noting that while most core functions will be available, some advanced features like Read Along in Classroom, Practice Sets, Originality Reports, and Gemini in Classroom may not yet support every new language.
This language update follows Google Classroom’s recent improvements to its grading system, which introduced bulk grading tools like “grade all” — streamlining teachers’ workflow on the Gradebook and Student Work pages.
By combining multilingual support with intelligent educational tools, Google continues to redefine the digital classroom for a diverse, global audience.
