Gaza Peace Deal Nears as Trump Leads Middle East Negotiations

President Donald Trump said Friday that a Gaza peace deal appears within reach. He expressed optimism about ending the Israel-Hamas war soon. Trump told reporters as he left the White House, “I think we have a deal.” He added, “It’s going to be peace.”

Moreover, Trump posted on Truth Social describing the talks as “intense” but filled with “Goodwill and Enthusiasm.” He emphasized the urgent need to bring back hostages and achieve “PERMANENT AND LONGLASTING PEACE.” Thus, the Gaza peace deal remains the primary goal of these discussions.

Earlier this week, Trump unveiled a detailed 21-point initiative aimed at ending the Gaza conflict. During the United Nations General Assembly, he met with several Arab leaders to promote the plan. A White House official told Fox News Digital that Trump “underscored his desire to bring fighting in Gaza to an expeditious close.”

Additionally, the U.S. special envoy for the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, outlined the plan. It includes the return of all hostages, both living and deceased, ending attacks on Qatar, and establishing new dialogue between Israelis and Palestinians. The goal is peaceful coexistence, according to Witkoff. Foreign partners reportedly expressed broad agreement, believing Trump offers the best chance to end the fighting.

Furthermore, at the Concordia Annual Summit in New York, Witkoff described a “very productive” meeting between Trump and officials from Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Egypt, Jordan, Turkey, Indonesia, and Pakistan. He said the 21-point plan addresses Israeli and regional concerns alike.

In a recorded message to the UN General Assembly, Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas signaled support for the plan. Although barred from entering the U.S., Abbas declared readiness to work with Trump, Saudi Arabia, France, the United Nations, and other partners to implement the peace plan.

Abbas also committed the Palestinian Authority to take control of security and governance in Gaza. However, he insisted that Hamas must first disarm for this transition to happen.

In conclusion, with multiple nations engaging and high-level talks underway, optimism grows that the Gaza peace dealcould soon become reality. Trump’s administration remains focused on pushing these efforts forward with regional partners.
