Contrived narrative exposed those are the words Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard used during a White House press briefing on Wednesday. She directly accused the Obama administration of pushing false intelligence to suggest Russia helped Donald Trump win the 2016 election.
Gabbard stated there was clear and undeniable proof that former President Barack Obama and his team engineered a false intelligence assessment. According to her, they misled the public with claims of Russian interference to favor Trump’s campaign.
The timing of her remarks follows the release of several newly declassified documents. These materials allegedly show how Obama officials politicized the intelligence process. Gabbard emphasized that no verified intelligence proved Russian President Vladimir Putin supported Trump.
“All of the documents confirm one central point,” Gabbard said. “The Obama administration politicized intelligence. They attempted to undermine President Trump even before he took office.”
The contrived narrative exposed in the documents was not minor, she added. Gabbard believes the evidence reveals intentional manipulation at the highest levels of government.
She announced that the Department of Justice and the FBI had received these materials. Both agencies were asked to examine any criminal implications within the released evidence.
“The findings we’ve turned over to federal investigators clearly show who led this effort,” she said. “President Obama played a direct role in shaping this intelligence report.”
The controversy deepened on Tuesday. President Trump accused Obama of orchestrating a campaign to investigate alleged Russian collusion. Trump labeled Obama the “ringleader” behind the effort.
Whereas, Obama spokesperson Patrick Rodenbush dismissed the claims as absurd and misleading. He said no new documents disproved prior conclusions reached by bipartisan intelligence panels. “The truth hasn’t changed,” Rodenbush said. “Russia tried to influence the 2016 election. But no votes were altered.”
Despite the denials, Gabbard stood firm. She also cited a 2020 House Intelligence Committee report that questioned the objectivity of earlier assessments. The report directly accused Obama of issuing “unusual” directives that influenced the intelligence.
Furthermore, The declassified materials specifically named several senior officials, including James Clapper, John Brennan, Susan Rice, John Kerry, Loretta Lynch, and Andrew McCabe. Digital media outlets reported that authorities submitted criminal referrals. However, the Justice Department refused to confirm any specific names.
Neither Obama’s team nor the DOJ responded to follow-up requests for comment. A s the political fallout continues, one key message echoes across the debate: Contrived narrative exposed.
