Federal Prosecutors Join FBI at Nancy Guthrie’s Home as Search Intensifies

Officials from the United States Attorney’s Office for Arizona joined FBI agents during what authorities described as a routine legal process. Moreover, agents remained at the property for several hours throughout the afternoon. Vehicles entered and exited the driveway repeatedly as investigators moved between the house and the backyard.

The visit occurred one day after Savannah Guthrie publicly increased her family’s reward offer. Savannah Guthrie, co-host of the Today show, announced a reward of up to one million dollars for information leading to her mother’s recovery. Additionally, she pledged a five-hundred-thousand-dollar donation to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

Nancy Guthrie, eighty-four, disappeared in late January from her Tucson residence. According to family statements, someone removed her from her bed during the night. Consequently, the case has drawn national attention and triggered an intense law enforcement response.

In an emotional video posted online, Savannah Guthrie described the past twenty-four days as agony. Nevertheless, she expressed continued hope that her mother could return home safely. At the same time, she acknowledged the painful possibility that her mother may no longer be alive.

Law enforcement sources indicated the family initially considered increasing the reward earlier. However, authorities advised them to wait because investigators were already receiving thousands of tips. Once officials strengthened their tip management systems, the family proceeded with the expanded offer.

Retired FBI agent Jason Pack argued that the larger reward could significantly influence the case. He explained that high-value rewards often create psychological pressure among potential accomplices. Furthermore, he suggested that financial incentives can fracture loyalty within criminal conspiracies.

Shortly after the announcement, the FBI reported a surge in new information. More than seven hundred fifty tips arrived within a single day, according to officials. As a result, investigators have worked to evaluate leads connected to sightings and suspicious activity.

Earlier, the FBI released doorbell footage showing a masked individual outside the residence. Detectives have since sought assistance in identifying clothing and other distinguishing details visible in the images. Meanwhile, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos cautioned against speculation regarding the timing of certain recordings.

Authorities have not identified a suspect publicly as the Nancy Guthrie Investigation continues. Ultimately, officials say they remain committed to pursuing every credible lead until they uncover answers.
