Father of 3 Fatally Stabbed on NYC Bus After Argument Over Seat

A tragic event unfolded in Brooklyn as a father of three was fatally stabbed following an argument over a bus seat.

The father had just finished work and was heading home to his family. Before leaving, he told his wife, “See you when I get home.” Those would be the last words she heard from him.

As the J90 shuttle bus approached Crescent Street and Etna Street in Cypress Hills, a heated argument broke out. Witnesses reported that the situation escalated quickly. One man stabbed the other in the stomach.

The attacker fled immediately after the stabbing. Passengers ran off the bus, shouting for help.

Police arrived moments later, responding to a nearby patrol. Emergency responders transported the victim to a nearby hospital, but despite their efforts, he died from his injuries.

His wife, Candice Todman-Francis, grew worried when her husband didn’t come home. She repeatedly called him but received no answer.

She then tracked his phone using an app, only to find it at a police precinct.

Candice called the precinct for answers, and soon afterward, officers arrived at her home to deliver the heartbreaking news.

“They said he got into a tussle on the bus,” she shared. “I still don’t know what really happened.”

So far, police have made no arrests. Investigators are reviewing footage and gathering more evidence to locate the suspect.

Candice and her husband had been together for 21 years. Five years ago, they married, and they had plans to renew their vows later this year.

He worked extra shifts to save for their son’s upcoming middle school graduation.

“He lived for work and home,” his wife explained. “His favorite place was Home Depot.”

A neighbor remembered him fondly: “He was a family man. Always working. Always helping others. Everyone respected him.”

Now, the phrase see you when I get home holds a deeply painful meaning for his loved ones.
