Father Faces Charges After Melina Frattolin’s Drowning Death

Police in New York have uncovered disturbing details in the Melina Frattolin drowning case. Melina, a 9-year-old from Montreal, was found dead in a wooded area in Ticonderoga, New York. Her father, Luciano Frattolin, now faces murder and concealment charges.

Frattolin and Melina had traveled from Canada to upstate New York for a vacation. He contacted police and claimed that someone had kidnapped his daughter. The authorities quickly issued an Amber Alert to locate the missing child.

However, investigators soon noticed several contradictions in Frattolin’s story. They examined his timeline and found that the events he described didn’t match available evidence. Instead of supporting a kidnapping theory, the details raised more questions about his role.

A medical examiner performed an autopsy and determined that Melina died from asphyxia caused by drowning. The examiner ruled her death a homicide. While additional lab testing continues, the authorities have already gathered strong evidence.

Police arrested Frattolin and charged him with second-degree murder and hiding his daughter’s body. He pleaded not guilty during his first court appearance. According to investigators, Frattolin and Melina’s mother had separated years ago. The mother, who lives in Montreal, had full custody of the child. She had no involvement in the incident.

Investigators believe Frattolin killed Melina while they were traveling. Afterward, he allegedly dumped her body in a remote area and made up the kidnapping story to cover his tracks.

Now, authorities are asking the public to assist with the Melina Frattolin drowning case. They want to gather video or dashcam footage showing a silver vehicle used by Frattolin and Melina. This vehicle traveled on Interstate 87 during the week leading up to Melina’s death.

Police continue reviewing security footage and interviewing potential witnesses. They remain focused on gathering every piece of evidence needed to fully understand what happened.

The Melina Frattolin drowning case has shocked both U.S. and Canadian communities. As the investigation continues, police remain determined to bring justice for Melina and hold her killer accountable.
