Epstein Case Developments Draw Trump’s Fire Toward Clinton and Summers

Epstein case developments once again sparked political controversy as President Donald Trump made new accusations on Friday. Speaking to reporters before leaving for Scotland, Trump deflected questions about Jeffrey Epstein’s sex trafficking case.

Instead, Trump directed attention toward former President Bill Clinton and former Treasury Secretary Larry Summers. “You ought to be speaking about Larry Summers,” Trump said. “You ought to be speaking about Bill Clinton.”

He further claimed that Clinton had visited Epstein’s private island, which served as a hub for the financier’s alleged operations. Trump insisted that he never visited the island and distanced himself from Epstein entirely.

Clinton, however, has denied ever visiting the island. In his 2024 memoir Citizen, Clinton stated that he had never set foot on the island. He also expressed regret over ever meeting Epstein at all.

Meanwhile, spokespeople for both Clinton and Summers have not issued statements in response to Trump’s accusations. Summers, who once served as Clinton’s Treasury Secretary and later as an economic adviser to Obama, remains silent.

Trump’s comments come amid rising conservative anger after the Department of Justice and FBI declined to unseal new documents related to Epstein. On July 14, the agencies said their investigation is closed and no new suspects have emerged.

Trump also criticized the renewed interest in the case. “He’s been dead for a long time,” Trump said. “I don’t understand the fascination.” The Epstein case developments continue to draw attention despite official conclusions. Many Americans remain frustrated by the lack of transparency.

On Thursday, Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche met with convicted Epstein associate Ghislaine Maxwell in Florida. Afterward, Blanche said he would meet her again on Friday and later share more details.

Maxwell is currently serving a 20-year sentence for sex trafficking a minor. The Justice Department stated it will release relevant updates when appropriate. Still, the public remains skeptical. With Trump pointing fingers and agencies staying quiet, the Epstein case developments are far from over.
