Eighth Victim Dies Following Philadelphia Plane Crash Near Roosevelt Mall

An eighth victim has tragically died following the January plane crash near Roosevelt Mall in Philadelphia. Dominique Goods-Burke passed away on April 27 after battling severe injuries for nearly three months in the hospital. She was critically injured during the Jan. 31 crash and never fully recovered.

The crash involved a Learjet 55 that had departed from Northeast Philadelphia Airport. It was heading toward Springfield-Branson National Airport in Missouri when it went down. Officials confirmed that the medical jet was carrying six passengers at the time.

Seven people, including several returning to Mexico, were killed in the crash. Goods-Burke, however, was not on board the jet. Instead, she was on her way to the nearby Macy’s when the plane struck. Her vehicle, carrying her fiancé and one of their children, caught fire during the impact.

Her fiancé, 37-year-old Steven Dreuitt, died at the scene. Their son survived but was hospitalized with injuries. Goods-Burke was placed in a medically induced coma and suffered burns to 70% of her body. Her cousin, Shantelle Fletcher, previously confirmed she had been responding to medication.

The community has mourned her loss deeply. The staff at High Point Café, where she worked as the day bake supervisor, paid tribute to her legacy. “Dominique was a fighter until the end,” the café wrote in a heartfelt Facebook post. “Her kind smile and generous spirit will never be forgotten.”

Friends and family highlighted her love for her children and her dedication to her work. According to a GoFundMe campaign, she had been a “devoted mother to her 3 children and partner.”

The café’s founder, Meg Hagele, described the emotional void her absence has left. “She was an amazing mom, a gifted baker, and the heart of this café,” Hagele said.

Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash. The Philadelphia plane crash near Roosevelt Mall remains one of the city’s most tragic aviation incidents in recent memory.
