Community Mourns Ava Lodico After Fatal Prom Night Crash

Community mourns Ava Lodico as family, friends, and classmates gather to honor the life of a young student taken too soon.

Recently, people came together near the crash site on Acapesket Road to pay their respects. They surrounded a tree covered with flowers, heartfelt notes, and photographs. Additionally, a cross bearing Ava’s name stood nearby as a lasting reminder of the tragedy.

Furthermore, Ava’s mother, Brandi Santos, expressed deep gratitude for the outpouring of support. She admitted, “I didn’t realize how many friends she had. The love is more than I expected.” Clearly, Ava had touched the lives of many more people than her family imagined.

As the community mourns Ava Lodico, they also remember the moments leading up to the accident. Ava had just attended prom, dressed in what many described as a beautiful gown. Moreover, Elizabeth McLain, one of her English teachers, brought a flower to the memorial. She recalled how radiant Ava looked and shared memories of their last conversation.

Emergency responders arrived quickly after the crash occurred late at night. Ava was alone in the vehicle when the accident happened. Unfortunately, the front of the car sustained severe damage. Tragically, she was pronounced dead at the scene.

In the days that followed, Falmouth Public Schools offered counseling services to students and staff. They encouraged those affected to reach out for support during this difficult time. The school community came together in grief and solidarity.

The community mourns Ava Lodico not only because of the tragic accident but also for the future she never got to live. She was only weeks away from graduating with her classmates. Everyone who knew her speaks of her bright potential and kind spirit.

In response to the tragedy, a fundraising campaign was created to help Ava’s family. By midweek, the campaign had raised over $23,000. Organizers described Ava as a beloved daughter, sister, cousin, and friend.

The heartfelt response from the town shows how deeply Ava touched those around her. Consequently, visitors continue to come to the memorial, sharing stories and honoring her memory.
