Apple’s September 9 Event: Latest iPhone 17, Apple Watch & More

Apple’s September 9 event is set to unveil the latest iPhone 17 series, new Apple Watch models, AirPods with heart rate monitoring, and the new iOS 26 software. The company plans to host the event at Apple Park and stream it online at 10 a.m. Pacific Time (10:30 p.m. IST). While the invitation only said “Awe dropping,” fans and analysts expect exciting new product announcements.

At Apple’s September 9 event, four new iPhone models will likely make their debut. The base iPhone 17 may look almost identical to last year’s version, focusing mainly on small internal improvements.

However, Apple will probably redesign the Pro models. These high-end versions may feature a pill-shaped camera bump similar to Google’s Pixel phones. Furthermore, both Pro models should get camera upgrades.

One notable change this year could be the introduction of the iPhone 17 Air, which might replace the traditional Plus model. This thinner phone is expected to have a slim design like Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Edge. It could measure just 5.5mm thick and include a 6.6-inch display with a single rear camera. However, it remains uncertain if the slim profile will affect battery life.

Besides iPhones, Apple’s September 9 event will likely showcase the Apple Watch Series 11, an advanced Watch Ultra 3, and a new budget-friendly SE model. Additionally, new AirPods 3 earbuds may debut with built-in heart rate sensors. This feature aligns with earlier Beats releases that added health tracking.

All new devices will come preloaded with iOS 26, which Apple previewed earlier this year. The software introduces a fresh “Liquid Glass” design language, promising a revamped user experience.

Analysts will watch closely during Apple’s September 9 event to see if the company raises iPhone prices amid ongoing supply chain challenges. Notably, Apple plans to manufacture all four iPhone 17 models in India for the first time, reducing reliance on China. India has become a major smartphone production hub, exporting $7.5 billion worth of devices in Q2 2025 alone.

Ahead of the launch, Apple will open two new retail stores in India, located in Bengaluru and Pune. This move supports Apple’s expanding presence in one of its fastest-growing markets.

The iPhone remains Apple’s cornerstone product, both economically and strategically. Even though sales in mature markets have slowed, iPhone revenue keeps growing. In fact, Apple reported a 13% year-over-year increase in iPhone sales and a 10% revenue rise in Q2 2025. This growth marks Apple’s strongest quarterly performance since late 2021.

Overall, Apple’s September 9 event promises exciting new hardware and software updates that could shape the tech landscape for the year ahead. Fans and analysts alike eagerly await what Cupertino will unveil.
