Apple is testing the latest Apple Music 5.0 beta on Android. This update brings several new features ahead of the iOS 26 release. While Android doesn’t get all visual changes, users still receive functional upgrades.
One of the biggest additions is the ability to Pin Music to Your Library. This feature lets users highlight their favorite songs, albums, artists, or playlists. By pinning music, users can quickly access what they love most. You’ll see this option in the overflow menus of various sections.
Unfortunately, Android users won’t see the full Liquid Glass redesign just yet. The bottom navigation bar and docked Now Playing controls remain the same. Apple may include these changes in a future update. Despite this, the update still offers some fresh design tweaks.
Buttons like Shuffle, Repeat, and Autoplay now feature a new pill-shaped design. The Play and Shuffle buttons on album pages also follow this look. These subtle tweaks help modernize the app’s interface.
Even though the homescreen widgets haven’t changed, there are still useful upgrades. You can now long-press a pinned item from the Library tab to unpin it. Apple also added a Tap Action setting. This allows users to choose what happens when they tap a pinned item.
Options include “Go to Album,” “Play,” or “Shuffle.” These choices give users more control over playback. You can even set pinned content to download automatically. However, this feature can be turned off in Settings if preferred.
The Pin Music to Your Library feature also syncs across all Apple devices. If items don’t sync immediately, try pinning or unpinning one item. That action usually refreshes your library and reveals the rest.
This Apple Music 5.0 beta marks another step in bridging the iOS and Android experience. While Android still lacks some design elements, the key features are arriving. Apple continues to bring value to Android users with updates like Pin Music to Your Library. Expect more enhancements as iOS 26 approaches its official launch this fall.
