Woman Rescued from Burning Vehicle on Kings

A woman is in stable condition after a dramatic rescue from a burning vehicle that overturned on Kings Highway near Knapps View Park. The crash was tense and dangerous, but quick action from first responders and civilians helped prevent a tragedy.

Emergency responders arrived after multiple reports of a crash with a driver trapped inside. The Chester Police Department said the woman was alone when her vehicle rolled over and caught fire. Flames quickly spread, putting her life at risk.

Officer Nicholas Contino was the first officer to reach the scene. He immediately handed his fire extinguisher to a passing motorist who stopped to help. Together, they moved toward the burning car to try to control the fire.

While working to suppress the flames, they called out to the woman inside. She answered, saying she was alive but could not escape on her own. Officer Contino quickly broke open the sunroof, creating a way out.

He and other responders pulled the woman from the vehicle and carried her to safety. Their fast and brave actions helped prevent serious injury.

After the rescue, responders took the woman to a local hospital. She remains in stable condition. The Chester Police Department praised Officer Contino for his bravery. They said his quick thinking greatly increased the woman’s chance of survival.

The police also released video footage of the rescue on social media. The video shows the tense moments and heroic efforts at the crash site. Officials are still investigating what caused the accident. No other details have been shared yet.
