Missing Personal Trainer Case Investigation Continues in South Carolina Search

Personal Trainer Missing Investigation Continues After Last Seen Near Wooded Area

Authorities in South Carolina continue investigating a missing personal trainer case after a woman disappeared last week. She last appeared near a gym and a wooded area. Officials continue active search operations and review evidence and witness statements.

Investigators identified the missing woman as 39-year-old Elena Katherine Moore. She last appeared on Thursday, June 11. Earlier that evening, she visited a Planet Fitness in Lexington. She signed in at about 6:40 p.m. local time, according to initial reports.

After leaving the gym, Moore walked toward a wooded area behind a nearby retail store. Investigators believe she moved toward a tree line near a Lowe’s Home Improvement store close to the fitness center.

Law enforcement received a missing person report on Friday, June 12. Since then, officers have continued coordinated search efforts. They also work to establish a clearer timeline of her movements that evening in the missing personal trainer case.

Police confirmed Moore works as a personal trainer at Wolf’s Fitness Center. The facility sits a short distance from the gym she visited. Investigators also noted that her disappearance does not match her usual routine, which keeps the missing personal trainer case a priority.

A police spokesperson described the situation as highly unusual. They said her absence differs from her normal daily behavior. Therefore, investigators continue treating the missing personal trainer case as urgent.

Search teams deployed drone technology to scan difficult terrain. They focused on wooded areas near her last known location. On Monday, June 15, officers conducted ground searches. Additional emergency units supported the operation.

Officials said search teams aim to eliminate possible locations. They do not treat the effort as a recovery operation. Instead, they continue ruling out areas where she may not be located.

Investigators confirmed Moore’s husband reported her missing. She did not return home after her last known activity. However, police do not currently suspect criminal involvement.

Authorities also stated that there is no indication she faced immediate danger. They said she may have carried her phone with her. However, they have not been able to track it.

Moore is described as a white female with brown hair and brown eyes. She stands 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs about 120 pounds. She wore an olive green hoodie and black athletic pants when last seen.

Earlier reports suggesting she had been located proved incorrect. Investigators also clarified she did not have access to a known vehicle.

Police continue urging the public to provide information. They say even small tips could help move forward the missing personal trainer case.
