Snapchat robbery details emerged after an Ohio teenager was left paralyzed during a violent shooting tied to a meeting arranged online. Angel, 18, was 26 weeks pregnant when the incident occurred in Toledo. Police say the meeting originated through Snapchat before the situation turned into an armed robbery and shooting.
Authorities report that Angel and her 19-year-old boyfriend drove to the Greenway Avenue area to meet the person they contacted. Shortly after arriving, an armed man dressed in black approached their vehicle. He pointed a gun at the boyfriend and demanded money.
During the confrontation, the boyfriend attempted to fight off the attacker. The gun discharged during the struggle and struck Angel. The bullet hit her arm, traveled through her body, and lodged in her chest. The situation escalated within seconds and caused life-changing injuries.
Following the shooting, Angel suffered a spinal injury that damaged her 12th vertebrae. Doctors confirmed she is now paralyzed and requires ongoing medical care. Her family also said she went into early labor because of the trauma caused by the shooting.
Medical teams continue to monitor both Angel and her unborn baby closely. Family members say the baby survived and remains under emergency care. They describe the condition as critical and emotionally overwhelming.
Investigators searched the area after the attack but did not locate a suspect. Police continue reviewing evidence and witness statements to identify the shooter.
The Snapchat robbery case has raised concerns about the dangers of meeting strangers through social media platforms. Community members continue to call for greater awareness of online safety risks.
Angel’s family is now raising funds to support medical treatment and long-term care needs as she adjusts to life in a wheelchair.
